THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL OF EBS

The Academic Council of Enigma Business School (EBS) serves as the primary advisory and oversight body responsible for academic standards, curriculum integrity, and institutional scholarly direction. The Council ensures that EBS programs uphold rigorous educational quality while remaining aligned with international best practices in business education.

The role of the Academic Council is to provide intellectual leadership, evaluate academic policies, and guide strategic decision-making related to teaching, learning, research, and assessment. Its responsibilities extend to reviewing new program proposals, monitoring curriculum design, and supporting the implementation of academic frameworks consistent with accreditation requirements and institutional goals.

In principle, the Council operates independently from administrative management to maintain impartial academic judgment. Working in consultation with the Dean, Provost, Faculty Leaders, and Research Centers, the Academic Council contributes to a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous academic improvement.

Main Duties & Functions

  • Develop, approve, and evaluate the curriculum.
  • Set academic standards, including graduation criteria, assessment systems, and learning quality.
  • Review and approve new programs (degree, non-degree, executive education).
  • Regulate academic policies and academic integrity.
  • Ensure compliance with international accreditation standards (SEAAC, ICDLA, EADL, GABDE, IAHRM, and other).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain academic quality and the scholarly reputation of the school.
  • Conduct periodic evaluations of faculty performance and research outcomes.

Interaction Patterns

  • Closely coordinates with the Executive Board for operational academic implementation.
  • Provides input to the Board of Trustees on strategic academic needs.
  • Receives industry insights from the Advisory Board to ensure curriculum relevance.
